AMC Dine-in

My husband joined up for the Movie Club and got a screening pass for the AMC Dine-In Theatre in Phoenix at the Esplanade 14.  So last night was a dinner and a movie night out for us.  It was very nice and such fun to experience an event before it opens to the public.  The Grand Opening is September 7th so mark your calendars and go see a movie!

We went to see the movie “Limitless” and had a great time.  If you have never been to the Esplanade you should make the trip.  Great restauarants and plenty of shopping.  Now you can have dinner and a movie together!  What a great concept.  I love to go to the movies and usually my husband and I make it a date night and plan a dinner out as well.  We decide up front if we want to eat first or after but sometimes we find our selves running late and have to hurry our dinner for fear of missing the beginning of our show.  This solved all of that!  The theatre had a well thought out menu with appetizers, sandwhiches, salads and dinner entrees.  Even some delectable desserts, and even though I wanted to - I chose not to have one.   Next time I will, the Chocolate Loving Spooncake looked amazing!

We took our 13 year old son and he said it was very cool!  He had the Chicken Alfredo, said it was thumbs up, my husband had the Smoked Brisket Quesadillas and ate all of it and I had a Mushroom and Baby Swiss Burger with Fries.  Cooked perfectly!  Our server Richard did a great job and was very attentive.  However, if you need anything during the movie you can push a red button next to your chair and your server will come right out to you.  Nice!

The theatre has two types of experiences.

One is the FORK and SCREEN that offers:

• Delicious food and cocktails
• Upgraded seates in a big -screen theatre
• Reserved seating
• Seat-side servie
• Guests are over the age of 18 or accompanied by an adult

and the other is CINEMA SUITES

• Upscale theatre with an enhanced menu
• Individual luxury recliners in an intimate environment
• Reserved seating
• Seat-side service
• First-class amenities such as a gourmet popcorn sample and more
• Guests are 21 and over

There is also a cocktail lounge MACGUFFINS so you can meet friends before the show or swing by after to mingle.

Especially when the person that is doing the ignoring is asking for information?

I wonder?  I really do….I can’t figure out the lack of respect that people have for others when it comes down to plain old manners, like saying please or thank you or returning a call.  I think people as a whole have forgotten the little things our parents have tought us.  But it is so simple to say the words or pick up the phone to return a call.   In our world of technology -a person can text or email without having to actually speak to the other person!!  How much easier can it get?!  I understand that there are times when a person may not want to “be sold” on anything but simply wants information from the professional.  I get it, I do and if that is the case, why not send a thank you just to let the professional know that their time is just as important as yours and that it was appreciated.

As a professional real estate agent, I am expected to return a call and I do so, and I expect the same of those asking for me to spend the time and resources to get the information out to them.  So why is it deemed “OK” for the person that is asking for the information to ignore my calls?  What I don’t get is that a person takes the time to ask for the information by sending an email or leaving a voice mail  and then gives an incorrect phone number or bogus email.  REALLY????  So for those of you out there, that have asked a real estate agent for info and not received it, check your number and email address that you gave out.  Is it correct?  We will respond.   Don’t be afraid………… We are not the big bad wolves out here, just GREAT professionals that work very hard to earn your business.  We will return your calls, emails and texts.  We will give you info with no strings attached, we just ask that you think of us and pass our name on if you know of anyone that could use our services. Thats all.  We are here to help you with all of  your real estate needs.

  Now remember, an agent only gets a commission on the deal(s) (or transaction)  that closes escrow - not on the deals that fall through or paid any money when the buyer whom  (even after we see 50+ homes)  decides to not buy.    A real estate agent can take the same buyer out several times, research and preview many homes and write numerous contracts  before a transaction closes escrow.  What most home buyers do not know is that the real estate agent that they hire,  does not collect a pay check until escrow closes on a property.  Period.  We are not paid hourly or on a salary.  Nothing, Nada, Zilch.  Agents pay for their own gas out of their own pockets to preview homes for clients, take pictures for those clients, drive those clients around, pick up the lunch tab and so on.   We also spend many hours researching  homes for clients, make endless calls and send out numerous emails.  Before I continue, I must say for the record and I am sure I speak for many of us professional agents -that  I am not complaining but merely clarifying what it is that we do to earn a paycheck. 

I believe that all potential buyers need to know what it is that we do to earn our living.  If more buyers understood, I think more  would appreciate our industry and see us for the true professionals that we are.  I don’t think that buyers know that they are times  when an agent does not  get paid for the work that we have done for buyers that end up not buying a home for whatever reason.  This is what can and often does happen to agents in the real estate world and sometimes to the fault of no one.   I am sure that there aren’t many people  in the world that would come to work everyday,  do their expected job and then come  to find out at the end of the week the boss says “Sorry, even though you did your job, we are not going to pay you”.  How long would the average person stay working at that company?   All in all, true professional agents work very hard for their clients and very hard for each paycheck, however, no paycheck until a transaction closes escrow and no gas in the tank until  a transaction closes escrow.  Just in case you wanted to know.

 Sounds like a great deal - and how can you go wrong with that price!  Neither one of us had been to this restaurant nor had we heard about it but we thought we would give it a try since we were already there and getting hungry.  The parking lot was pretty full and it looked like there was a wait to be seated.  We parked the car, walked in and were instantly greated by a very pleasant hostess.  Since it was busy we asked if we could sit up at the bar area where no one was sitting and shorten our wait.  She smiled and said that would be ok and we took a seat on the high tops.  We were greeted immediately and a couple of the ladies that worked there also said hello to us.  It was  nice that we were acknowledged so quickly.  Our server asked us what we would like to drink and we both chose water.  The menus were already in front of us and we also noticed that breakfast special on a table tent.  We decided to go with the special.  Our server took our order and we chatted while we waited for our food.  We could not belive the price of what we ordered and could not wait to eat it. 

 Once we got our food, we could not belive how great it all looked!  Our eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was crisp but not burnt.  The hashbrowns were just perfect, fluffy in the middle and crispy on the outside.  The pancakes were large and fluffy with a dollop of whipped butter on top!  Just plain maple syrup was offered and that was all they needed!  As we ate, our server stopped by to fill our water and ask how our breakfast was.  We loved it!    She cared enough to ask us if it was our first time there and we said that it was and that we would be back.  

As we chatted with our server, Chantel, we found out that her mother, herself and her daughter all work there, 3 generations.  We thought that was pretty cool. 

 Once we finished our breakfast, she brought us our check.  We could not belive that we had all of that food for under $8.00!!  As we were getting ready to pay our bill, Chantel gave us a few coupons to come back and try dinner.  I told her that we will be back and thanked her for the great breakfast, conversation and service! 

What a perfect way to start our day in sunny Phoenix!

Seven out of the 10 markets are in the South, two are in the West, and one is in the Midwest. None of the markets are in the Northeast
